5. Arch Lake Cave of Cabo Tiñoso
lake cave plans

Cabo Tiñoso is the most outstanding and strategic piece of the coastline of the Region of Murcia. We could say that in its northern part the first geographic, defensive and coastal ring of the city of Cartagena begins and in its southern part it marks the beginning of Mazarrón Bay.

Its attractive coves, natural beaches and imposing steep areas have their origin in limestone and dolomite rocks dating from the Triassic period. Its rock walls can reach up to 200 meters above sea level. In the case of Cabo Tiñoso the maximum of all the projections that enter the sea is confirmed: where there is a cape, its waters keep great depths. And so it is. In Cabo Tiñoso we find spectacular sea beds, caves and canyons, ideal as a fish farm. In these waters we find bottlenose dolphins, cetaceans and sea turtles.

5 kilometers from the tower of Santa Elena we will find the famous Arch of Cabo Tiñoso, which is also called the elephant trunk. There is a sub marine cave named Cueva del Lago where you enter with a small apnea of about 20 seconds to be inside a room where you can walk and see a lake of fresh and salt water a real natural spectacle.
